¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ — An Easton man has received a year-and-a-half sentence for child pornography charges.
Darian Braun, 23, was arrested in September, 2024. He pleaded guilty in February to six counts of promoting and distributing child pornography. During the plea hearing, Braun said he pleaded guilty because he was guilty and it was in his best interest.
On June 26, Judge Philip Cronan handed down a five-year sentence with all but one year, five months and 29 days suspended. That nearly 18-month term began June 26.
Braun was previously charged on 34 total counts — 17 for promoting and distributing child pornography, and the other 17 for possessing child pornography. As part of the six-count plea agreement, the state did not prosecute the remaining 28 charges.
At the February plea hearing, prosecutors said the Easton Police Department received a tip last year from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a person possessing child sexual abuse material. Investigators identified that person as Braun, prosecutors said.
Braun will be registered as a tier II sex offender. He is under five years supervised probation among a number of other conditions.
