¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ — Easton will hold a town election Tuesday for three seats on the five-person Town Council. Voting is open at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department on Leonard Rieck Drive from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
WHO’S RUNNING
The council is made up of a president along with four representatives from the town’s election wards.
For the council president seat, incumbent Frank Gunsallus and current Ward 2 representative Don Abbatiello will square off. Gunsallus has served as Town Council president since September 2023. Abbatiello has represented Ward 2 on the council since 2019.
With Abbatiello opting to run for president, a new resident will assume the Ward 2 seat. In that race, Lynnette Keefe and Robert Rankin will face off. Ward 2 includes a large portion of town east of U.S. Route 50 and north of Dutchman’s Lane, as well as residents on the west side of the highway, south of Idlewild Avenue and east of Route 322.
The Ward 4 race will present voters with three options: incumbent the Rev. Elmer Davis, who has served in the seat since 2020; Moonyene Jackson-Amis, previously Ward 4’s representative from 2001 to 2008; and Cameron Keefe. Ward 4 encompasses much of Easton’s downtown area in between Routes 50 and 322, including residents north of Idlewild Avenue and on the east side of Aurora Street up past Dover Road.
