TRAPPE — Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred just outside Trappe on Tuesday.
At around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Talbot County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident in the area of Chloras Point Road and Claylands Road, according to a press release.
The vehicle involved was 150 yards from the road and rolled over multiple times, police said. Authorities say a passenger was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries.
Police said the passenger was then taken to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton and later transferred to a shock trauma center in Baltimore.
The 18-year-old driver, Ellis Newcomb, refused treatment at the scene, according to the press release.
The Talbot County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 410-822-1020.
