FEDERALSBURG — Police are actively searching for an individual in Caroline County following a chase that began in Delaware, local officials said.
Caroline County Sheriff Donnie Baker told ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ that Delaware State Police chased a fugitive over the state line after the assault of a Delaware Department of Transportation employee on Tuesday.
The search is occurring in wooded areas near Handy Road, Baker said. Handy Road is east of Federalsburg town limits and next to the Delaware border.
Agencies assisting the Caroline County Sheriff's Office include Maryland State Police, Department of Natural Resources, Denton Police Department and the Caroline County Department of Emergency Management.
The Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that residents should pay attention to their surroundings and report suspicious activities to 911 or local police.
