I have known Don Abbatiello for nearly a decade and had the pleasure of serving alongside him in the Easton Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Don was president of the EVFD at the time, and the department thrived under his level headed leadership.
I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who more exemplified the virtue of civic duty; Don has served the citizenry of Easton as a firefighter and a member of the town council for many years now, and I truly believe he does it entirely from a sense of moral and civic obligation to his fellow human.
My politics may not always perfectly align with Don’s, but I know that he possesses a strong commitment to human rights and equality and is always open to hearing and thoughtfully considering all points of view before coming to a reasoned decision.
I have come to him many times over the years with grievances or concerns over council issues, and he has always listened with care, curiosity and interest, and replied with measured and genuine consideration.
As a local business owner, a citizen of Easton, and a father of three with a vested interest in the future of this community, I trust Don to do what is right and what is best for all of us.
Don Abbatiello is the council president this town needs and deserves.
