The single car accident at 7013 Main Street in Queenstown is being investigated by state police.
QUEENSTOWN — Police have not yet released the name of the individual involved in the single vehicle crash that struck the Queenstown Town Office on Saturday evening, Feb. 25. According to preliminary reports, Maryland State Police was alerted to the accident shortly before 10 p.m.
The four-door, compact Ford struck a light post and utility pole before the back end of the car came to rest against the porch of the town office. Commissioner President Alton Hardee, Jr. and Commissioner Bryon Callahan, also a member of Queenstown Volunteer Fire Department, were both on the scene shortly after the accident occurred.
One patient, believed to be the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.
Hardee said he thought the structural damage to the office was limited to the porch and for now the front entrance would be cordoned off. The broken utility pole owned by Delmarva Power was replaced Saturday night.
The cause of the accident and any charges are pending the completion of the incident report by police.
