CAMBRIDGE 鈥 Police have arrested two more Cambridge men on murder charges in connection to a fatal shooting in June, bringing the total of murder arrests on the case to four.
Jasire Kane, 20, and Kah鈥橺ion Johnson, 18, were arrested on July 25 and July 29, respectively, on first-degree murder charges. Police identified them as suspects in the June 8 shooting of 23-year-old Alyson Elien of Seaford, Delaware.
Just after 8:30 p.m. the night of the shooting, officers responded to the 900 block of Camelia Street in Cambridge. They found Elien lying outside of a vehicle in a driveway with a gunshot wound to his head. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Per court records, police allege Kane and Johnson acted as two of the 鈥渃o-conspirators鈥 in a five-person operation to rob and kill Elien.
Court records identify 15-year-old Jakai Wilson as the alleged shooter. Police say Wilson, followed by four others, walked up to Elien鈥檚 car, opened the driver side door and shot him, the victim falling out of his vehicle. The five people then fled, court records say.
Charging documents for Kane allege he returned to Elien鈥檚 body shortly after Elien was shot.
鈥淎fter Elien was shot and lying on the driveway with life threatening injuries,鈥 Kane allegedly took 鈥渟omething off Elien鈥 and ran away, per court records.
Later, a crowd formed near the scene, and two other subjects 鈥 not any of the five main suspects 鈥 allegedly stole a bag from Elien鈥檚 vehicle, police wrote.
Charging documents show police identified Kane and Johnson through video footage. Johnson was also identified during witness interviews, court records state.
Kane faces 12 total counts, including first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, robbery, firearm use and more. He鈥檚 being held without bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 25.
Johnson, meanwhile, faces 13 counts, including first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, robbery, firearm use and more. He鈥檚 being held without bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 28.
Wilson was arrested June 10, two days after the murder. He was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and other firearm and armed robbery counts. Wilson is being charged as an adult and held without bond; however, court dates for Wilson are not publicly available since he is a minor.
18-year-old Nisiah Fletcher, of Cambridge, was arrested on July 6. Fletcher faces similar murder, firearm and robbery charges to Wilson. Fletcher is being held without bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 5.
Police have not announced an arrest of the fifth suspect in connection to the shooting.
