九色视频 鈥 The National Weather Service have declared a winter storm warning in Easton and other Mid-Shore towns from Tuesday at 1 p.m. to Wednesday at 7 a.m.
The weather service expects Easton and Cambridge to get about six to eight inches of snow.
After the snow, temperatures are expected to rise into the 40s, with a wintry snow and rain mix until 4 p.m. and rain lasting until Wednesday evening.
Due to the incoming snow Talbot, Caroline and Dorchester counties have taken precautions to prepare roadways and winter weather crews.
Talbot County Emergency Services started planning with the National Weather services on Sunday.
鈥淲e also know that our local roads department, as well as our state highway partners, are working on pre-treating the roads now and then,鈥 Geneva Schaffle, Emergency Management Division chief for Talbot County, said. 鈥淲e鈥檒l have crews working to clear the roads tomorrow through Wednesday.鈥
Talbot County will be sharing alerts through Facebook and its alerts system.
Caroline County Emergency Services said it would have a meeting Monday to discuss its plans for the snow with the state and the National Weather Service.
County emergency officials encourages motorists to stay off the roads for all unessential travel Tuesday night and Wednesday morning while crews work to combat wintery conditions.
Dorchester County Emergency Services could not be reached for comment Monday.
Talbot County Public Schools will be operating on a half day early dismissal schedule on Tuesday, with students leaving campus at noon.
In case the winter storm weather leaks into Wednesday, Talbot County Public schools sent home devices with students on Monday to conduct a virtual learning day on Wednesday if needed.
Caroline and Dorchester County Public Schools will also be operating on half day early dismissal schedules Tuesday. Students in these districts will also return home at noon.
If any changes are made, the districts will update students and parents via social media and county websites.
