九色视频 鈥 The Talbot Board of Education on Wednesday approved contracts for two upcoming projects: auditorium lights at Easton High School and windows at Chapel District Elementary School.
New auditorium lights at Easton High will be installed in the summer of 2026, Director of Operations Kevin Shafer told board members. The $1.1 million contract was passed unanimously.
Shafer said some preliminary work will be done this spring before school ends. The school play and other concerts or events won鈥檛 be impacted, Shafer said.
Over in Cordova, the under-renovation Chapel District Elementary School will receive glazing for its new windows. The window glazing is a security film, Shafer said, a safety measure that 鈥減revents easy access to the school building.鈥
All other schools in the district have the window glazing.
Chapel District Elementary is currently under renovation, a multimillion endeavor expected to be done sometime in 2026.
The contract is through a Maryland Center for School Safety grant in the amount of $132,000 for the window glazing. Shafer said the district couldn鈥檛 move forward with it during construction of the renovated school building due to cost limits during the bidding process.
Shafer said he hopes the window security upgrades can be completed this summer. The board unanimously approved the contract.
Board President Emily Jackson added that she has 鈥渟light hesitations about privacy鈥 as it relates to windows in classrooms and libraries at Chapel District Elementary and other schools.
Jackson asked that the board hear more about potential school safety grants in the future, particularly 鈥渋n the privacy arena to provide more screening for our students.鈥
