九色视频 鈥 The Academy Art Museum has announced that on Friday, September 25, 2014 at 6 p.m., The Kittredge-Wilson Speaker Series at the Academy Art Museum will kick off its fall lecture series with a lecture by Dr. Joan Breton Connelly, professor of classics and art history at New York University, at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25. Connelly will present a lecture on her most recent book, 鈥淭he Parthenon Enigma: A New Understanding of the West鈥檚 Most Iconic Building and the People Who Made It.鈥
Connelly is a field archaeologist who has excavated throughout Greece, Kuwait, and Cyprus. She has pioneered 鈥渆co-archaeology,鈥 integrating archaeological and ecological research toward the preservation of both cultural and natural resources. In 1996, she won a MacArthur Foundation Award for her work in Greek art, myth and religion. Her books include 鈥淧ortrait of a Priestess: Women and Ritual in Ancient Greece" (Princeton, 2007) and 鈥淭he Parthenon Enigma: A New Understanding of the West鈥檚 Most Iconic Building and the People who Made It" (Knopf, 2014).
The series ticket for four lectures in the Kittredge-Wilson Speaker Series is $50 for museum members and $65 for nonmembers. Individual tickets are $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers. For more information or to purchase a ticket to this lecture, call 410-822-2787.
